We have an Olympus C-765 super zoom digital camera and wonder what settings will give us the best resolution for 4 x 6 prints. Is there a benefit to using any setting above the SQ! (2048 x1536 pixel) setting. Can you use too high a resolution setting for 4 x 6 prints?

It makes no difference for 4x6 but it will for 8x10 or above. However, it costs your memory space.

I have a Sony D-cam and it's just a 3.2 m-pix version. I mostly have is set at 1.2 mega pixels because it closely matches my computers resolution set at 1280 x1024. The photos are even clear printed at 8x10 if the lighting is good.
